Costume

 the film is set in the winter, we wanted the costume to highlight this, by wearing hats coats gloves, coats etc. As in most films, we also want costume to represent the character. As Gabrielle is quirky, and free spirited we want that to come through in her clothing. To put this across, as well as setting the winter scene, in the title sequence Gabrielle will wear a parka coat, a colourful scarf, patterned tights and old, converse shoes as well as a furry hat and mittens. In the film, Gabrielle is also a music lover so will wear a band t shirt, showing through. However, to illustrate the change even in personality Gabrielle has gone through, her hospital gown will be bland and her hair limp, with bags under her eyes, in contrast to her curly hair and rosy cheeks in the opening. Benjamin is also a quirky dresser, though perhaps more fashion conscious that Gabrielle. In the opening, Ben is wearing a pair of camel coloured corduroys,with a pair of battered half cab van skate shoes. He is also wearing a lumberjack shirt and grey hoodie he is also wearing a burgundy beanie hat and gloves. When Ben is shown again, with Gabrielle in hospital, his hair is unkempt and he looks paler than in the opening, his laces are undone his jeans ripped and his buttons not buttoned properly. This change in appearance shows how Ben has stopped being so fashion conscious and caring, since Gabrielle has been taken away.
